Thatโs a wrap on 2024! What a wild year itโs been. We took a million walks and cooked a million meals. We went to the zoo and the Japanese tea garden and the beach. We planted a lemon tree and watched the gophers eat all of the tomatoes. There were family trampoline sessions and the girlsโ notebooks filled with song lyrics. Andrew and I took not one but two sexy solo getaways. Preschool graduation, 1st grade graduation. I was unemployed and then suddenly painting and dusting and stocking the shelves of my very own bookstore. I learned how to set up an LLC and run payroll.

We bought grapes and made wine. 4th of July parades and homecoming parades and pet parades and tractor parades. So many parades! There were sick days and stomach bugs and pink eye. I launched a website, rebranded this newsletter and started a women-only book club. Manuscript editing and Halloween-costume making. The election happened. I bought a melatonin subscription to help me sleep. We made10-hour chickpeas and Salsa Very Verde and variations on braised pork to feed a crowd.
I flossed my fascia and bought a heavy set of weights. We tried out for basketball and signed up for Cub Scouts. And quit Cub Scouts. I listened to podcasts and watched bad tv and excellent tv and read a lot of books.

๐๐ If you like this post, mind giving it a heart at the bottom? It really helps! ๐๐
Some other things I loved this year:
For My Closet: My best shoe purchase โ not inexpensive, but they are so well made and so comfortable and extra wonderful for long days on my feet. Then I slip these on as soon as I get home. The easiest, most comfortable pants. The LESET Margo tee has replaced all of my other tees. My favorite cardigan. Shameless plug, but the Wild Plum merch is ๐ค and I use this superbly oversized tote bag every single day.
For My Skin: I donโt know what Iโd do without my Hanni shower salve. Like Oprah, everyone got a tub for Christmas. The best lip balm. The only dental floss. Retinol, face oil and SPF.
For My Health: A silk eye mask to beat all other eye masks so I can sleep like a baby. I donโt drink coffee so I rely on the most beautiful matcha for focused energy. New water filters for our Berkey to stay hydrated. My favorite red light book light so I can read without messing up my sleep (plus, Iโve come to love the weird brothel-y feel it gives our bedroom). Fatty. Iโm a huge fan of Ritual and take their Sleep and their Multivitamin, but itโs their plant-based protein powder thatโs the real winner. Mornings wouldnโt be the same without it. Iโm still no Jennifer Anniston, but Iโve stuck with Pvolve for the past year and feel so much stronger.
For the House: Thereโs really only one thing to put on here that matters. Santa shopped the Black Friday sales and brought us a hot tub ๐ฅ
In so many ways it was an incredible year, a life changing year. I know 2025 is going to have some rotten bits (hello, January 20th and every month after), but Iโm also hopeful and excited for the things happening in our little corner of the globe.
Is there anything youโd like to see more of here? Truly, Iโd love to know.
What beautiful photos, such a pleasure to look at! And a lovely fun and gentle read to start the year. Happy New Year. And yeah, January 20 pffff . Love to you and yours โค๏ธ
Late to the party here, but this looks like the most wonderful year. Love that you've shared it โค๏ธ Cheering for you, yours, and Wild Plum in 2025. :)
